Design Issues

1. If  lower side is radial circuit or week end ( There is no source connected and only incoming) Higer side all protection should trip the lower side and Higer side CB Open contact no need to trip the lower CB.

2. Protection should trip both TEST and Service condition.

3. PD -2 BF -2 should trip adjacent CB and CB should be service conditions.

HV GIS TEST

1. HV test kit should have the surge arrestor facility to with stand the surges. Otherwise kit will get damage.

2. Earthing of generator is very impotent for leakage and surge current following.

3. Make the required circuit in GIS and open the TC1 & TC2 and DC circuit to avoid the tripping during HV injection.

4. Put LCC operations local mode to avoid the remote operations during testings

5. Short all CT secondaries and Spare CTs

6. Check all VT primary links make it open.

7. Check the Capacitance value of GIS some times need compensate capacitors in HV test.

8. If flash accrue concentrate on outdoor GIB side.
