Application
Fiber optic should be
ST-ST connection.
2. Transrecever and MUX is connected with RJ 45 CAT 6 cable. Core size should be 0.5 Sq.mm.

3. As per above drawing the distance between Converter and MUX should be 10 mts.

7. The one and half schem has two separate CT inputs. So two seperate inputs CH1 & CH 2 are used .
For double bus and single breaker schme only one chennal is used.

Trouble shouting and connection checks
1. Take small length fiber cable connet the two relays with same specification
make the address in RED670 1,2 and 2,1 check the communication. If it is ok then go for next step.
2. Set the relay address "0" and make loop Tx+ & Rx+ and Tx- & Rx -. If relay communication ok the local converter and fiber ever think is ok.
3.Keep the relay address "0" and make the fiber cable Tx RX loop at remote end by using below connector.
If relay communication ok now your both side converter and fiber cables are ok.
This method applicable for both relays.
4. Conform both side converters are same model.
5. Conform the continuity of wires used.
(Micom P591 converter connection)
6. Don't put the loops in MUX and it will not work.
7. Connect the fiber in one side ( Relay or converter) and see the light in fiber and connect it in Rx.
2. Tele protection converter ( Differential and all other protection)
1. Fox 515 unit ABB is used in this method.
2. For Differential protection OPTIF card is used in side the FOX 515
3. The fiber converter is important for connect the fiber in OPTIF card - SFP.
4. The connection type of fiber is LC connection.
5. For Distance and BF , PD send TEBIT card is used in the FOX 515.
6. The field wires are connected in the TB as below schedule.
This only for example and any channels can configure for any kind of protection.

For Micom relay we have to put Actuator to reduce the db rating of the communication.
Note :
Establish the communication between FOX515 OPTIF to relay .
4 channels available in OPTIF . The channels should enable depending upon our requirements.
For example Two channels used for Set-1 relay and one channel used for set-2 relay then you have to enable only three channels.
If any enabled channels are not used OPTF will give red indication alarm.
1. Connect the fiber optic cable in relay back side
2. Relay Tx will give Red light in fiber and connect it with OPTIF - Rx ( with out light) . OPTIF - Tx will give the Red light and connect it in relay Rx ( with out light).
3. Insert the fiber optic properly in SFP.
4. Set the proper address and communication mode in the relay and switch ON / OFF DC supply in the relay panel.
5. compare the Time and Date setting in Micom it should be same with FOX 515 time.
6. OPTIF shows green LED do same in other end.
